calvin and milo

Congratulations to two of our local Brisbane baseball players, Milo Jung and Calvin Curtis, who will be heading to Cooperstown, NY to play in the Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Tournament from July 19th to July 25th. Milo and Calvin were selected to join the South City FOG for their 2019 edition to play in the week-long tournament that features 104 teams from around the United States, and takes place the same week as the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This will be the 20th Anniversary team sent to the tourney by South San Francisco Youth Baseball Association.

Milo and Calvin would like to thank ALL the Brisbane businesses, families, and individuals who helped them with their fundraising efforts. The boys worked very hard to raise money for the trip by selling chocolates, raffle tickets, and securing other kind donations that were auctioned off at the FOG’s dinner dance gala. Thank you, Brisbane, for your continued generous support of local baseball. And good luck, Calvin and Milo, in Cooperstown later this month!

Congratulations to Capt. Rosenlund!

On July 1, 2019, Capt. Dave Rosenlund with the Brisbane Fire Department worked his last shift.  After 33 years of service to the community, he decided it was time to hang up his boots.  We have been so fortunate to have him so long with the city, and wish him the best as he enters this new chapter in life!  He plans to travel, visit family down under, and take some surfing trips.  Congratulations, Dave, and surf's up!

Did you know that 65,000 persons have been served through HIP Housing's Home Sharing Program since 1979?  Home Sharing is a living arrangement among two or more unrelated people.  Home owners or renters (Home Providers) who have a residence with one or more bedrooms are matched with persons seeking housing (Home Seekers).  See July's Home Providers and Home Seekers flyers, along with an FAQ sheet about home sharing.

Construction Work on Tunnel Ave

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Please be mindful of construction work occurring on the Brisbane portion of Tunnel Ave, which runs south of the Caltrain Station to Golden State Lumber.  Preparation work prior to paving has already begun and will continue on Friday, June 28.  The contractor will be doing local pavement repairs and leveling (filling in some low spots) with asphalt concrete.  Paving will be done on Saturday, June 29.  Manhole covers will also be lowered as part of this project to allow for an even smoother ride!  Please be careful around the crews working from about 6am - 4pm.  In July, the repaved roadway will be striped, including new sharrows and signs to alert motorists to share the road with bicyclists.  The project is funded in part by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, as well as Federal Local Streets and Roads funding, state gas taxes, Measure A sales tax funds, and impact fees.
