The City Clerk is the local official who administers democratic processes such as elections, access to city records, and all legislative actions ensuring transparency to the public.  The City Clerk acts as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes including the Policiticl Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act.  The City Clerk manages public inquiries and relationships and arranges for ceremonial and official functions.

General Municipal Election


General Municipal Elections to elect council members are held in Brisbane on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year.  This years election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 and two Council seats will be filled.

Nomination Process
Between July 13, 2015 and August 7, 2015, citizens may take out nomination papers to run for City Council.

Potential candidates for City Council must get twenty signatures of registered voters in Brisbane to qualify for the ballot.
