One recommendation resulting from the parent engagement meeting was to leverage community talent and engage community resources in the program.  For example, establishing a potential collaboration with San Bruno Mountain Watch to educate the kids on conservation, launch a hiking club as part of the program, provide volunteer opportunities at the Mission Blue Nursery, etc.  We also recognize that there are a great deal of talented Brisbane residents with a variety of skill sets (art, woodworking, science, music, performance arts, etc.) and would like to explore ways to invite them to support the program through enrichment-type activities or clubs.  What community resources can you envision integrating as part of the afterschool program and how can you see others getting involved?

Our sports fields at Brisbane Elementary and Lipman School are in bad need of maintenance. They have many dry patches and uneven surfaces. There are also issues with watering as some parts get too much water and some none. It's likely that some pipes are broken. Consider field turf.

Regarding a collaboration with San Bruno Mountain Watch, we have done that to a certain extent with our Mission Blue Camp summer camp. Nice folks, but I was told they are short-staffed to do a lot of partnerships with the schools and community. Best to check with them to know what they need and can support.

Hi Ken, if there's a specific area of concern, please submit a service request to the Public Works Dept. via the free GORequest app. You'll be able to quickly take and upload a picture of the issue and if you have location services enabled, it will pop in the coordinates of the area needing maintenance. This will help our crew out a lot.

There is also the web version of GORequest: http://user.govoutreach.com/brisbane/. Thanks!
