VIDEO: Cold In-Place Recycling

Last May, Bayshore Blvd. in Brisbane was closed to traffic one lane at a time to allow for paving contractors to rehabilitate, compact, cure and pave over the roadway using Cold In-Place Recycling practices.  This is an innovative and eco-friendly way to rehabilitate roadways as existing asphalt is re-used after it is ground and mixed with binder additives before it's placed back into the roadway.  Cold In-Place Recycling is also slightly less expensive than traditional hot mix asphalt overlay techniques.  This is the type of innovation that cities are doing and demonstrates what future SB-1 (Gas Tax) funds can be used for.
