We are a General Law city that holds our elections during the month of November in even-numbered years. We have five elected officers – five Council Members.  Each seat has a term of four years.  The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are appointed by the City Council for a one-year term in December.

Offices to be Voted On:

On June 16, 2022, the City of Brisbane City Council adopted Resolution 2022-48 calling for a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 for the election of two (2) Council members for a term of four years each.

The candidate filing period for write in candidates is Monday, September 12, 2022.  The last date and time for the submission of nomination papers is Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 5pm.  For more information about running for an elected office, ballot measures in Brisbane, and/or to schedule an issuance appointment, contact City Clerk, Ingrid Padilla, at ipadilla@brisbaneca.org or by calling (415) 508-2113.

  • Measure O: To pay for general municipal expenses, shall an ordinance be adopted imposing on hotels and other places designed for overnight stays by guests a business license tax of $2.50 per room for each day such room is rented, generating approximately $250,000 annually until ended by the voters?

  • Measure U: Shall the City of Brisbane’s measure to fund city services/facilities, such as neighborhood police patrols, fire prevention services, urban wildfire protection, crime suppression/investigation, pothole/street repair, parks and other city facilities, and to support other city services, by levying a ½¢ sales tax, generating approximately $2,000,000 annually until ended by voters, be adopted?
