Appreciation and T-shirts for Brisbane Village Helping Hands Volunteers

April is National Volunteer Month, and the BVHH Board - Nancy Colman, Sherry Goodwin, Karen Latham, Elaine Porter, Tony Press, Cindy Rudolph - would like to thank their volunteers for helping to make Brisbane a stronger community and making a huge difference in the lives of local seniors.

As part of National Volunteer Month, the BVHH Board would also like to encourage BVHH volunteers who have been hesitant to fulfill requests to take the plunge and click on the “accept” button.  Benefits from volunteering include: satisfaction in helping others; giving back to your community; getting to know your neighbors better; and making Brisbane an even better community.

In honor of National Volunteer Month BVHH is giving away free colorful T-shirts with their logo!  To be eligible you must accept a request within the next several months (retroactive to the start of 2023).  The limit is one per person.  (That’s t-shirts, not assignments.)

It's been seven years since BVHH launched to help seniors “age in place” and decrease isolation, by offering help with transportation, minor home repairs, technology, and companionship.  They are grateful for the strong support received from the City of Brisbane, the Lions Club, and private citizens who have shown generosity through donations and fundraising, and are proud to have completed over 900 requests and to have grown to 55 volunteers and 59 members.  As COVID declines, they hope to resume our social gatherings.
