At their June 1, 2023 City Council Meeting, the City Council proclaimed June 2023 as Pride Month in the City of Brisbane.  How fitting that this would occur on the very first day of Pride Month!  On-hand to accept the evening's proclamation was San Mateo County LGBTQ Commissioner, Jana Rickerson.  Thank you for coming to Brisbane, Jana, where the Council and City are committed to supporting visibility, dignity, and equality for LGBTQ people in our diverse community!  Did you know that Brisbane is the only city in San Mateo County to fly the Progress flag year-round?

During the pandemic, Brisbane resident and artist, Deanna Washington, unveiled her new exhibit, Love is Love, in honor of Pride Month.  The Pride Pickets and of course, Deanna's Peace Pickets, can be seen on the corner of Alvarado and Mendocino!  Check out this YouTube video our Communications Team made a couple summers ago when Deanna dropped off her Love is Love bookmarks at the farmers' market.
