Trash 2 Treasure Challenge 2022

The Trash to Treasure Challenge began in 2020 as the Recycled Arts and Crafts Contest. With the new name, the City aims to expand the 2022 contest beyond art and encourage submissions of a wider array of upcycled items.

Kids and adults alike are encouraged to create art, jewelry, fashion, kinetics, garden art, furniture, useful home items or whatever your imagination can dream of from waste. Materials should be destined for the landfill, recycle or compost; minimal use of purchased materials will be accepted.

This year, we will be displaying submissions at Day in the Park (October 1st) and hosting a "People's Choice Contest" to be voted on by event-goers. City staff will follow up to coordinate drop-off/pick-up of your work, to the extent possible, in September.

Contest Deadline: Sept 9, 2022
