Tom Seawell

Position:
Committee Member

Appointed: February 2021

Term End Date: January 2025

Tom Seawell, P&R Commissioner

Tom was appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission in February 2022 and is currently serving a 4-year term.  Since the age of 25, Tom had been working as a commercial photographer, interfacing with almost every major brand in the Bay Area.  However, things changed for him when he started working more with one of his clients, UCSF Medical Center.  Along with photography, he was doing film work, and when he produced a number of patient stories, his company, Seawell Productions, which had their studio in the Dogpatch for 27 years, started getting noticed.  They were nominated four years in a row for an Emmy and won one in 2019!  You can see more of these stories on UCSF Medical Center’s YouTube channel.  Additionally, Tom’s been working on a feature documentary film for 12 years called “Frost”, a tribute to Tom Frost, a visionary who redefined climbing style, and the engineer, photographer, and conservationist who were pivotal in the history of Yosemite big wall climbing.  Check out flatlanderfilms.com – coming out soon!
